Ruben Marin, Security Systems Estimator, BryComm
Business Technology Committee Chair
Ruben Marin got his start in the security industry at 14 years old in low-voltage cabling. Today, Ruben brings more than 15 years of experience in telecommunications and electronic security systems to his security estimator role at BryComm.
“I was always drawn to the technical and IT world, so getting hands-on experience early on only deepened that curiosity,” said Ruben. “It pushed me to stay involved and constantly learn, which shaped the foundation of my career.”
From structured cabling and intrusion detection to IP-based surveillance and access control, his field-tested expertise brings a unique and practical perspective to his new role as chairperson for the Business Technology Committee.
“Drawing from both field and estimating experience, I aim to bring grounded insights to the [committee] table, focusing discussions on tools, workflows and lessons that translate in the field and in the office,” said Ruben. “It’s about sharing real-world value that peers can apply immediately.”
With this committee focusing on business technology, we asked Ruben what he thinks will have the most significant impact on the security industry in the next few years.
“AI and automation are already reshaping how we estimate, scope and manage security projects,” said Ruben. “Innovations in weapon detection, intelligent video analytics and predictive maintenance are evolving fast, and they’ll soon become essential tools that enhance accuracy, efficiency and safety across the industry.”
Ruben’s ability to blend technical precision with real-world applications makes him an ideal leader for the Business Technology Committee as it continues to explore the intersection of business needs and technology solutions.
