Leadership Lesson: Life Balance

April 18, 2016

In order to be a more effective leader, you must think, inspire, energize, connect, and act like a leader.  Here is a quick tip to help escalate your success as a leader through having a balanced life:

Cherishing and spending time with loved ones is highly important to those who are successful. They know these people support them and love them unconditionally. They also understand the impact that work/life balance has on happiness and inner peace.

In order to be truly happy, peaceful, and successful it is important to balance both work and personal life and not to focus too much on one or the other.  If you have too much personal time on your hands, you are not working hard enough to become successful.  If you work too much, you will be unhappy and stressed, which will affect your work life.  There must be a balance between the two – find your balance.

Try this:

When you plan your week, make it a point to schedule time with your family and friends doing activities that help you rejuvenate yourself and do not waste time on activities that zap your time or energy.  Also, remember to plan a little relaxation time for yourself – a little bit can go a long way (take a nap, read a book, meditate, go for a walk, listen to music).
