Preferred Technologies, NextGen Security Take Top Integrator Awards at PSA TEC 2025
Integrated Security Technologies, PSLA round out winners honored at PSA TEC 2025
DENVER—Preferred Technologies of Houston took home the Bill Bozeman Award and NextGen Security of Exton, Pa., captured the Integrator of the Year Award in the large business category (more than $25 million) during a luncheon at PSA TEC 2025.
Integrated Security Technologies (IST), based out of Waipahu, Hawaii, won the Integrator of the Year award in the medium business category ($6 million to $25 million); and PSLA (Photo-Scan of Los Angeles) Security Systems out of Los Angeles won the Integrator of the Year award in the small business category (up to $5 million).
The awards, hosted by PSA and Security Systems News for the fourth year, aspire to identify the leading systems integrators within the security industry, from smaller, local integrators all the way up to the big nationals.

Preferred Technologies
Preferred Technologies becomes the first two-time winner of the Bill Bozeman Award. Led by President Shaun Castillo, the company had a 12% revenue growth rate and has had a 30% CAGR since 2021. With 27% gross margin, Preferred Technologies is extremely efficient managing projects and maintaining competitive pricing.
In 2024, the integrator focused on steady growth and attracting top-tier talent, leading to several Top Workplaces awards, including USA Top Workplaces in 2025, Houston Chronicle Top Workplaces in 2024 and Austin-Statesman Top Workplaces in 2024. Its Craftsman with Character partnership with a local Title I Houston school district has introduced the security industry to underprivileged and underserved communities, already producing three summer interns and a full-time employee.
Additionally, Preferred Technologies invests in its employees through leadership training, industry engagement and professional development. The integrator encourages participation in committees (19 employees on PSA committees), public speaking and conferences. Its certification program rewards those who pass the PSP and PMP exams with a $10,000 raise and a $10,000 bonus.
NextGen Security
NextGen Security, led by CEO Frank Brewer, had an impressive 2024 revenue growth of more than 30%, opened two offices and expanded into a new territory. Constantly prioritizing philanthropy, the integrator participates annually in the Salvation Army Angel Tree program and employees regularly volunteer at local food banks. Likewise, the company donates toys, coats and food to its local shelters each year. This integrator invites its employees to submit their favorite charitable organizations. In 2024, NextGen donated to 41 organizations chosen by its employees.
Integrated Security Technologies
Led by President Christine Lanning and co-founder Andrew Lanning, both winners of the Security Systems News Security Legend Award (2022), IST experienced 12% year-over-year revenue growth in 2024. Its managers and salespeople are all required to join at least two professional organizations. Membership dues are paid for by the integrator and work time is allowed to be spent attending and supporting those organizations and their events. All employees are strongly encouraged to attend PSA committees. For those who join a committee, they get to attend PSA TEC and participate in the committee’s presentations.
PSLA Security Systems
PSLA Security Systems, led by Vice President Gary Hoffner, has built a 53-year legacy of financial success through strategic growth, technological adaptation and an unwavering commitment to excellence. The company had 9% revenue growth and recurring monthly revenue growing to 14% in 2024. PSLA is also deeply embedded in community service, most notably donating more than 50 toys in collaboration with Keck USC to benefit underserved children in Los Angeles, supporting affordable housing initiatives through donations and sponsorship of the annual "Bowls of Hope" fundraiser for Many Mansions, and offering expert guidance to local business communities on mitigating cyber threats.
